Rarely can i manage to record the sound from a cat in such strong emotion, so i rolled the recorder for 1 minute with guilt. I gave my cat a fish can afterward, so don't feel sorry when you use the sound.

A haymaking course was done for the 25th time at ryghsetra near the town of drammen in norway. On saturday everyone could stay for a few hours, listening to two female performers singing and playing fiddle and banjo, watching a group of people mowing a meadow at the same time and socializing. I used a zoom h6 with a sennheiser microphone and i edited the recordings by means of hindenburg journalist.

Recorded on oct 29 2012 at 96k/24bit with a rode ntg-3 into a zoom h4n. I was recording wind ambience as hurricane sandy was currently swirling around. Along this bike trail i found this wooden ramp. Upon standing on it i realized it moved! and better yet it made some pretty cool creaking sounds!.

I made it from my balcony, late afternoon - there is a large playground surrounded with 4 four-storied blocks, so there's a great echo. This clip was a test for my new roland cs-10em binaural microphones. It was recorded from my balcony. I live in city so you will hear traffic, cars and motorcycle, people chatting and a barking dog. For this clip i used my zoom h1n (96khz/24bit) with roland cs-10em binaural microphones. The sound was no post-processed.

Sound created using the wooden rod inside of my coat closet, and recorded on a zoom h2 recorder. This effect was used to create a sort of dungeon ambiance in a musical track. The exciting thing about recording and cataloging natural sounds is how you get nice, unexpected surprises. I was up early recently one spring day and did not have any real plans to record, until i stepped outside with my coffee to see what the weather was like and was nicely surprised with the light, steady spring rain that was falling in my yard; during the whole time this energetic carolina wren kept on singing through the rain. I rain, got my recorder and recorded a full hour of this peaceful pattering. You hear the drops hitting the concrete patio, the shingled overhang and a plastic chair. Zoom h4n recorder using the stereo built-in mics.

A recording made in the shawnee national forest in illinois on the very first day of october, 2022. This recording was made at mid-afternoon and features the peaceful, pleasant wind through the deciduous trees. From time to time though, the soft call of a nuthatch or a chickadee reminds us there is still bird life in the early autumn woods. Birds getting ready, getting stocked up for the upcoming northern assaults of cold air this winter. Some crows really start to put on a show towards the end of this stereo recording. Recorded in stereo using a zoom f4 recorder. Microphones:left channel- neumann km184right channel - audio technica bp4025.

A close up recording of an overheating usb slot-loading cd/dvd drive that repeatedly tries to spin up, but fails and makes some clicking noises. Note on low frequency sounds: i recorded this with a zoom h1n recorder at about 2cm distance from the drive slot. I held the recorder in my hand and rested my hand on the surface the cd drive was resting on, so there is somewhat of a mechanical connection between the drive's vibrations and the recorder. I believe this led to the low frequency parts of the recording. About halfway through the recording, i lifted the drive up with my other hand and held it at a 30degree angle to the surface and recorder. As you can hear in the recording, this made it spin up a little longer before failing and spinning back down.

Midwestern forests can be quite noisy during the early spring when the various neo-tropical migrants invade the woods to get fat of insects and to raise a family. In this recording, made on the bank of a small creek situated in a ravine, you will hear various birds including, northern parula, louisiana waterthrush, an eastern phoebe, a carolina wren and an american robin. Recording made with my handy zoom h4n recorder propped up about 3 feet from the forest floor on a tripod and using the unit's internal, stereo microphones. Enjoy.

Surround recording of the main square in diocletian's palace in the old center of split in croatia. It is a summer afternoon, flying swallows can be heard and the place is teeming with tourists from all nations sitting and drinking coffee or listening to a group of folk singers which can be heard in the distant background. Part of the square is covered with a large wooden porch, making quite a clatter as the tourists walk over it. Recorded with a zoom h2. This file contains the rear channels, recorded with a mic-dispersion of 120°.

5. 1 surround field recording of the center courtyard of the barbican estate, an ensemble of brutalist concrete block highrises in central london/uk. It is a weekday morning, some people are walking and talking on the premises. A group of schoolchildren passes some distance away at the beginning, some light construction work is going on in the midrange, and in the far range the busy city noises of london can be heard. The recorder is in the center of the courtyard facing into the complex. Recorded with a zoom h2n and matrixed to 5. 1 surround.

Mid range field recording of the area in front of the new york times building in new york, taken from opposite the building on the corner of 8th ave and west 40th st. Cars can be heard driving by, horns are honked, brakes are trodden etc. A sweeper vehicle features sometimes. People can rarely be heard, as the recording was done at about 6 am on a saturday morning in march 2012. Recorded with a zoom h2, mics set to 90° dispersion.

Recorded with a zoom h1 n. Waves lap gently against the sand shore, absorbed by tons of freshly strewn kelp. It is near a tide turn, so the wave action is relatively gentle. The sounds are more like lapping, and not crashing. It is a very gentle sound.
